I grew up in a small town in Eastern North Carolina (its given name is Selma, but in reality it was Mayberry). I went to the University of North Carolina for my undergraduate degree and on to Wake Forest for law school. Following a clerkship for the North Carolina Court of Appeals, I began my legal practice in Goldsboro where I was blessed with wonderful mentors. But after four great years there, we made the decision to return to Johnston County where I have practiced ever since. I enjoy exercise, music (playing and listening) and UNC basketball and football.
